Sun cream, Plasters, Chamois cream, Insect Repellent, Rehydration Salts, Painkillers, Sunblock

 

Wash kit - I am sure you can decide what to include here...

Pack Towel - stick one in your day bag, you will enjoy a quick rinse at lunch

Clothing suggestions:

 

Medium Weight Fleece - for the evenings

Overnight Clothing - check the weather (comfy shorts, t-shirts and flip flops a must)

At least 1 pair of clean fresh Lycra Cycling Shorts per day

At least 1 clean fresh cycling jersey per day

At least 1 pair clean fresh socks per day

Sandals / Casual Shoes for after ride

 

Waterproof Clothing - comfortable for riding in

 

Other: - all of this must fit into your small hold all

Snacks for Cycling Days (dried fruits, nuts, flapjacks, cereal bars etc)

Kit and spares:

In addition to the kit you'd have on any ride... (Tubes, levers, repair kit, multi tool)

Spare tubes - you should always carry two, we suggest you bring at least 2 more

2 x Water Bottles fixed to your bike (you will need to drink while riding proficiently)

Cycling Gloves - at least 2 spare pairs (so that's three pairs)

Bike Lock - check your insurers requirements

Neck Scarf

Bike Lights (front and rear) plus reflectors, UK legislation means you have to have them!

Duck Tape (small folded piece off the reel)

Bell, Whistle or Horn (recommendation in case you need to alert other riders)

An extra set of Brake Blocks

Cleaning Rag

Oil/Lube

Other specialist parts for your bike if it's a specific design, I.e. Compag.

Bike pump (we will have track pump)

Helmet (compulsory)

 

Small day bag to hold sunblock, extra gels, bars and energy powder - you will have access to this during the ride

Small Holdall (for overnight gear - comfortable clothes and flip flops recommended) you will not have access to this bag during the day

 

Must haves before you ride:

Insurance which includes personal accident insurance suitable for riding in Europe and which covers theft of you bike and belongings.

We will have some gels and energy bars for emergencies.

You will,I am sure, have your own preferred supplier of gels, energy bars and drink powder so rather complicate things bring your own. You will only need as much as you usually use. We will have plenty of water to top bottles up along the way.
